1. Procession Route: The CANSA walk starts at 07h30 others will come together at 08h00 to divide into teams for the procession. The procession starts at the turn-off to Bergsig on the Ladismith side, opposite the 'tip', through Bergsig. Everyone walks together and picks up litter, until the square next to the new supermarket in Voortrekker Street where an official ribbon cutting will take place as well as other proceedings.

We would like to thank Aunty Sophie Roman for her guidance and advice with the planning of the procession.

Kannaland Municipality has confirmed the procession through Bergsig. Thank you Mr. Johan de Wet and Mr. Willem Baartman for your contribution in this regard.

· Organisations walking so far are CANSA, VLV, Hope Options Centre and the DR Church.

Feedback from other invited organisations has been very disappointing this far. In order to make the day a success, we need everyone to work together! Please contact us as soon as possible to confirm support.

· Each group (organisation) in the procession must appoint two representatives as Marshalls of the group. We are allowed to use only one lane of the road.

· Posters: Each group make their own posters which can be used for the procession to support / reflect the Dream Project

2. Program: A complete program will be given at a later stage with all the final proceedings and times.

1) - CANSA walk: Starts @ 07h30 in Voortrekker Street at the corner of Elca, down Andries Pretorius street up to the turn-off at the railway line, passing the Old Station, up in Queen street and ends in Van Riebeek street on the corner of the new shop. People that want to walk can give their names to Juanita Pretorius from CANSA.

2) - Stalls: The stalls will be in the alley between the church and the church hall, while the art stalls inside the hall. Organisations or individuals that want to book a stall must contact the Tourism Office as soon as possible 044 213 3775 or Moira 044 213 3402; at R30 a stall. The profit you make at your stall will be yours!

There are quite a few stalls still available (see list below).

Take Note: Everyone arranges for their own tables and chairs etc. In case you have a problem doing so, contact us before the 27th of August. Elsie Calitz rents out tables and chairs; she has 20 tables (@ R12 each) and 200 chairs (@ R4 each). The stalls will open after the procession and ribbon cutting, between 10h30 / 11h00.

The other group of stalls will consist of organisations makeing the public aware of their purpose and services. All the organisations are welcome to book for an information stall at the Tourism Office (044) 213 3775.

3) - Art Competition – bins:

All planned competitions will take place in town. The winners of the bins competition will receive cash prizes from the funds sponsored by Kannaland Municipality. We would like to thank KannalandMunicipality for the donation. We want to thank Petro SA for 30 blue plastic bins sponsored by them, and also Rawson for 10 additional bins! Cheryl, Penny and other artists will handle this project.

4) - Ribbon cutting – As Peter Dirk Uys is not available, we will soon decide on a suitable person from our community.

5) - Dance – The day ends with a 60's theme dance at Calitzdorp Station. The tickets cost R50 for adults and R25 for children which include a hamburger. Ann and Toni will make their own burger patties. No costume = no admission. The tickets are available at Ann and Toni Upman (De Potpourri) also from Cheryl De Villiers (Old Station). Get your tickets in advance to ensure you do not miss out. All the proceeds for the day will be used to buy trees. On 27 August all tickets must be paid.

6) - Vats competition – Cell phone. Marlene Robson mentioned that there are still planted vats without owners. The Tourism Office offered to take care of the 3 vats on the corner at Noempies. The cell phone competition will be organised by Marlene & Briëtte.

7) - Wall painting – The wall near Calitzdorp High is unpainted and looks untidy. Jadé offered that she and her sister will handle the painting of that wall, on the day of the Launch.

3. Other:

- Facebook: Retief has opened a Facebook page for the project which is very popular - already 70 likes to date! Tell all your friends to join Dream 4 Calitzdorp on Facebook.

- Cuttings competition = All the cuttings have been counted and we are now 936 cuttings richer. It is being stored on CalitzdorpHigh School's tennis court for later use..

The Grade 3 class then won in the primary school and the grade 11b class in the high school. The Tourism office will make certificates and each class will also receive R100. Cheryl and Ann will hand over the certificates on Wednesday.

- Donkeys – Ronel

Ronel will get the donkeys for us as soon as Dorpshuis has built fence.

- Entrances – Liefling Cottages

Deon & Mize' want to donate 2 tile murals, to replace the old metal signs at the entrances of the town. These will read: Welcome to Calitzdorp, Port Wine Capital. It is hand made and the tiles are fired at 1000ºC which ensures that they have a long life span and that they are maintenance free. We are very thankful for their gesture.

- Potholes (Saayman str) – Boplaas let us know that Gustav Roller (very kindly) filled the potholes with sand in Saayman street (from Boplaas up to theSt Helena crossing). We want to thank Gustav for this.

- Lutheran Church

Zelma & group are still waiting for feedback from the church council. It has been cleaned there, but the fence must be replaced and other repairs need to be done.

- Cemetery

Kim Verlinde & group can continue with their planning! This group has an additional member, welcome Irma!

- Other progress

v Suzette Pokpas's group picked up more than 200 bags of litter against the slopes along the R62. Thank you Suzette!

v Boplaas is also busy with changes! Margaux's feedback: "The view of Boplaas is going to improve. Saayman Street will get more roses. Boplaas' playground is going to get grass. The garden is going to change. The back of Boplaas to Stasieweg - the bushes and trees have been removed, waiting for the Munisipality to remove the last tree since it is in the electrical wires.

We have cleaned around Boplaas, we are cleaningSaayman Street on Monday mornings as well as Queens Street from the station up to the stop at the police station. On Briëtte's request we also put a bin in Saayman Street for by-passers to throw their litter."

"The Launch on 1 September: Boplaas plans to have an art exhibition with some freshly baked bread sales in the back room (with Pieter Bayly's wife Yvonne Bayly who will help me). Boplaas will also make some grape juice available to the volunteers who help pick up the litter that day.

Margaux will also be our link with the cellars. Thank you Margaux, your hard work is noticed and appreciated!

- Woman's day Project and Klaus

Moira, Jadé & Erina, from the tourism office are planning, together with other organisations and businesses in town (and Kannaland Municipality's contribution) to beautify and renovate the living quarters and garden at the Tip. Each group will be responsible for a specific part. We want this project finished for Woman's day (9 Augustus 2012). The people living there need things like: a door, paint, linen, cleaning material, cutlery, chairs, tables, wardrobes, racks, etc. to make it more liveable. The room that the Tourism will work on is the middle one when you look from the R62.

Klaus Triebe most generously, took off the garage door and built a wall with a window and door to fill the opening. The Tourism committee, including Jadé and Erina, would like to thank him most sincerely!

- New suggestion: We need all the residents of Calitzdorp to help us draw up a database, as requested by Marinda. This would be where each person recommends someone that delivers a good quality service. It will range from plumbers, builders, electricians to seamstress etc. in Calitzdorp. The person that recommends someone as well as the recommended person's contact details must be given. If someone can help us, please contact the Tourism Office (044) 213 3775.
